Nightwing's car is the sole creation of Dick Grayson. With regards to it's exterior, various bodies can be used to cover the car, ranging from a taxi cab, to a muscle car, to a station wagon. Almost any mid-size to full-size body can be fitted on the chassis, including police cruisers and sports cars. All of the bodies are bullet absorbing so as not to ricochet bullets toward innocent bystandards. Underneath the body, the heart of the car is a 3.7 McLauren racing engine mated to an automatic transmission. From here, the all wheel drive leads to puncture resistant tires. Dual batteries round out the mechanicals. The Nightbird is also equipped with an internal navigation system with global positioning system hookup, video and radio receivers/transceivers, scanner set to monitor police, fire, medical, and military emergency frequencies at all times, and a satellite hookup to the mainframe in the Batcave. The basic chasis, and all of the possible bodies are stored at a former auto dealership, purchased by Nightwing, for the purpose of serving as his own Lair.
