Mirroring the trinity that is made up of Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman, the Troika were brought together by the same dream of an alternate world devoid of the three heroes. During this time, Despero’s forces fought Kanjar Ro’s army for the much-desired prize that turned out to be the Cosmic Egg containing Krona. It was then that he was confronted by Enigma and Morgaine to become a Lord of Creation by claiming their position of power. Morgaine representing the woman of mystic might, Enigma representing a man of skill and science, leaving Despero to represent the powerful extraterrestrial. Using Tarot as a mystic conduit, the Troika found out they needed artifacts of the Trinity’s lives to bring their plan into fruition.
To distract the heroes, the Troika created the Dreambound using the Cosmic Egg. By using minor arcane, used from swords, staves, pentacles and cups stolen from museums as well as links to the Trinity’s lives, the artifacts from friends, foes and foundations, the Troika also needed to mystically brand the Trinity. When Despero managed to brand Batman, Morgaine cast her spell, hatching the Cosmic Egg and releasing Krona.
