Do You, As I Do

When you look up in the sky
Do you see the same shades of blue, as I do
Or do you see a hint of grey

When you listen outside to the sounds of nature
Do you hear songs of birds carried in the wind, as I do
Or do you hear willows weep

When you get lost in your thoughts of day dreaming
Do you visualize past the haze and add colour, as I do
Or do you see only black and white

When you close your eyes at night and begin to pray
Do you remember to thank God for all you do have, as I do
Or do you retain all sorrow and suppress all joy

When you wish for the things this life has to offer
Do you wish for the simple things, as I do
Or do you wish for the things that don't come free

When you commit yourself to loving someone
Do you love them for all that they are and can be, as I do
Or do you try to alter their very being

When you look ahead in your future
Do you see me there with you, as I do
Or do I stand alone
