Russell & Opal opened the Mission in 1995 in obedience to the "Will Of God." Russell was working in the prison ministry and Opal was a bank teller at Superior Federal bank. God has blessed us tremendously in our ministry Over the years. Opal was raised in Broken Bow Oklahoma and is the daughter of Homer & Myrtle Palmer. Opal graduated from Broken Bow Highschool in 1960. After completing High School Opal moved to Texas, California, Minnesota and finely settled in Arkansas. When she returned to Texas she moved to Huffman and resided across the street from Russell. As you can guess they got to know each other and were married. Opal retired in June of 2002 and now travels with Russell to procure food and clothing for the Mission. Russell was raised in Shepherd Michigan and lived on a small farm 5 miles from town. He Graduated from Shepherd High school in 1960 and went on to college in Iowa and latter graduated from Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant Michigan with a BS in BA degree. Russell’s work took him to Battle Creek Michigan where he worked for Price Waterhouse public accounting firm then to Texas where he was the assistant controller of Hutcheson Hayes Mfg. and Controller-Treasurer of Andino Chemical Shipping. Russell’s work then took him to Dahran Saudi Arabia where he worked for Aramco. Russell was ordained into the ministry in 1962 and has been busy in the ministry every since that time, ministering when-ever and where - ever possible. Russell has never taken any pay for his ministry work and when he receives funds for his labor it goes into the Mission for procuring food for the poor. While in Saudi Arabia he pastored a non-denominational Christian church (Moral Group) in Uthmaniah about 70 miles from Dahran. Christianity is banned in Saudi and the penalty for teaching it was death or expulsion form the country. Upon returning to the United States he returned to his home in Huffman Texas where he met and Married Opal Palmer. Russell started a prison Ministry in Texas (Prisoners For Christ) and spread the ministry into Arkansas & Oklahoma where he witnessed individually with over 5,000 inmates and held services and prison revivals. In 1995 God phased him out of the prison ministry and into a Mission for the needy, where him and his wife Opal still minister today.
