Inner State

Whistling in a vacuum cleaner dear ivy cleaning maid before the setting sun breaks into a loose interpretation of the mirror'd form that slides behind you and places your own hands on your neck to swallow the bitter pill with a spoonful of sugar and wait for the day when you wake up and realize you're not in Kansas anymore, for only waves of truth set the pace for your own destination, taking a road trip you can't understand nor ever hope to cling to the shattered shreds of your frail broken mind, standing limply before you obeying the mad whim of your voice as you see as through another's eyes the twisted torn longing, hopeless and dear to your heart as you bite the hand that puts the worm on your hook, fishing for answers in a bottomless boat made of glass and charcoal, muddy though your eyesight is, you can see the words with hawk-like clarity, with perception undeniable and in fact you can never deny it, you just sit and wait for it to go away and leave you alone, fly out of your daydreams and out of your nightmares, to leave on a shooting star and play backgammon with all the other nice seahorses you see on your trip to Arizona in the wild wild woods where the wild wild things are, they live in your head and see the way out, won't find the obvious, so you help them put chinks in your wall of shadows, cause the only reason they're there is to soothe your aching weary mind with cool water and flashing lights that hypnotize you, that bind you to your red door, under lock and key you struggle to break free but the door's been glued shut silly girl, so you shrug and repeat your life's story to the crowd, who stopped caring a half-hour ago and just came for the sandwiches anyway and a nice tall drink of water who promises you happiness then twists and flips tp show one of the many faces worn by they who want to deceive you, trick you, plug you into a little hole with no air, no breathing space so you can't find your way out of the kitchen sink you're losing yourself in this helpless daydream, so why don't you just wake up, snap out of it, it'll all be better in the morning soon.

Rise and shine, sleepyhead!
