Secret Faith

I see you unthinking sweet

in the silent shrouded midnight

keeping still for hope you will not see me

you will not see the truth

that lies close to my heart of hearts

shoot me a heated glance, I care not

see not for if you were but a

ray of sunlight, you are my shadow

a silhouette of my dream and present

in my every nightmare

shine light into my vast tunnel

my hallowed halls of sleep

seeding my thoughts with your presence

shatter my liquid mind into a thousand pieces

keep trace of my form and function

twisting into a somnolent shape, a curve

that shifts a waiting turn of denial

daring a smile for my sake

as I slowly wake into your eyes

and pause for a long lonely moment

sigh into your warm hands

accept my fate, your faith in me
