Shirley W. Wendelborn, 74
Shirley W. Wendelborn, nee Koch, 74, of West
Bend, died Tuesday,June 6, 2000, at St. Joseph's Community Hospital.
She was born April 9, 1926, in the town of Scott in Sheboygan County, to the
late Rolland and Corrall (nee Romaine) Koch.
As a child her family moved to the West Bend area. Following her graduation from
West Bend High School, she worked briefly at the Gehl Co. before moving to
Milwaukee and working at the former First Wisconsin as a bookkeeper.
After her marriage to Eugene B. Wendelborn on June 7, 1947, at Holy Angels
Church, West Bend, the couple settled in West Bend.
Shirley was a long-time member of Fifth Avenue United Methodist Church, West
Bend.
Survivors include her husband; three children, Robert (Bonnie) and Kathryn
Wendelborn, both of West Bend, and William (Colleen) of South Bend, Ind.; five
grandchildren, Lisa (Gregory) Garstka, Andrew, Amy, Mark and Caitlin; two
great-grandchildren, Jason and Nicholas Garstka; a sister, Muriel (Raymond)
Hadfield of Glendale; her mother-in-law, Louise Wendelborn of West Bend; a
brother-in-law, Donald (LaVerne) Wendelborn of Clintonville; three
sisters-in-law, Audrey Brumm and Carol (Floyd) Potter, both of West Bend, and
Noraleen (Marvin) Gutterman of Brooklyn, N.Y.; nieces; nephews; and other
relatives and friends.
Services will be held privately with no visitation. Burial will take place in
Holy Angels Cemetery.
The family would prefer memorials to Fifth Avenue United Methodist Church, the
Cancer Care Center at St. Joseph's Community Hospital, or to the charity of the
donor's choice.
The Schmidt Funeral Home, West Bend, is serving the family.

Bonnie T. Wendelborn
Bonnie T. Wendelborn, nee Bohn, 56, of West Bend,
died on Sunday, Feb. 5, 2006 at home surrounded by her family following a battle
with cancer.
She was born on May 16, 1949 in West Bend to Sylvester and Olive (nee Stoffel)
Bohn, and on May 20, 1970, she was united in marriage to Robert D. Wendel-born
at Holy Angels Catholic Church, West Bend.
For the past 15 years, she worked as a customer service representative at Kmart.
Bonnie’s life centered around her family, and being a wife and mother gave her
life a lot of joy. Later, the role of grandma became extremely important to her.
In addition to her family, she enjoyed reading and flower gardening.
Survivors include her husband, Bob; three children, Lisa (Gregory) Garstka of
Sun Prairie, Amy of Sun Prairie and Mark of West Bend; two grandchildren, Jason
and Nicholas Garstka; her mother, Olive Bohn of Plymouth; a sister, Mary
(Raymond) Heiting of Plymouth; her father-in-law, Eugene Wendelborn of West
Bend; two brothers-in-law, James (Sandy) Laufer of West Bend and William
(Colleen) Wendelborn of South Bend, Ind.; a sister-in-law, Kathryn Wendelborn of
West Bend; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were her father, Sylvester Bohn; her sister, Noreen
Laufer; and her mother-in-law, Shirley Wendelborn.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 8 at 7 p.m. at St.
Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, West Bend, with Jeffrey Haines presiding.
Visitation will be at the church only on Wednesday from 4 until 6:45 p.m.
The family has requested memorials to the Kathy Hospice.
