"Laura M. [(Nelson) Huntoon], her sister Mary, and siblings Margaret (my 2GGM), David, Henry, William, Eliza Rose, Frederick, Sidney, Eliza Frances, Flora, and Eugene, are all the children of Amanda Frances Deaderick and Dr. David Nelson (1793-1844) prominent doctor, minister, and abolitionist originally from Tennessee, removed to Kentucky then Marion Co, MO, then to Quincy, Adams Co, IL. Laura M. Nelson was the only child born in Kentucky, most likely Danville where her father, Dr. David Nelson went to preach at his brother Samuel K. Nelson's congregation after his brother died. My 2GGM Margaret Nelson married William Barnes. Their only child, Laura Barnes, married Snowden Hubbard. Laura named one of her sons (my GF), Clyde Huntoon Hubbard."

• 1910 census in Santa Rosa, Sonoma Co., California: Laura M. Huntoon, age 80, a widow, born in Kentucky, lived with her sister, Mary J. Williams, age 74, a widow, born in Tennesee, as were both their parents. The household also included Mary's daughter, Laura E. Williams, age 37, born in Illinois, and her nephew, Ernest F. Deaderick, age 27, also born in Illinois. The space for "number of children" in Laura's record was left blank.

• 1850 census in Dorchester, Norfolk Co., Massachusetts: Wm. M. Huntoon, age 25, a "lumber dealer," said to have been born in Canada, lived with Caroline A. Huntoon, age 25, and Carolina A. Huntoon, age 5 months, both born in Massachusetts. Also in his household live Wm Gutterson, age 62, and Charles C. Gutterson, age 18, probably the father and brother respectively of William Huntoon's wife Caroline. Charles C. Gutterson was a wealthy man, worth $32,000 in real estate.
