George Bunker drowned. The Gen. Dict. by Savage states that George Bunker, the first of the name in America resided in at Ipswich, Essex County, Massachusetts He was the son of William Bunker, a French Huguenot, who fled to England to avoid religious persecution to which he was subjected in France. The original spelling of the name is "Bon Coeur".
