Arr. in N.E. ca 1636.  In 1638 bought a horse.  Rem. to Rhode Island with Roger Williams in 1641.  To New Amsterdam (now New York City, New York County, New York) with John Throckmorton in 1642 for religious freedom.  Secured grant with him for land now known as "Throg's Neck."  Ensign 1646.   Plantation granted by Dutch known as Cornell's Neck granted on the East River is now town of Westchester.  Returned to Rhode Island.

Was a patentee of Flushing LI in grant of 1665.  Delegate from Flushing to the Hamptons Convention of 1665, the 1st representatives associated under English rule when the "Duke's" Laws, the 1st code of the Colonies, were adopted. In 1666 was Justice of the Peace for some yrs. In 1667 was appointed by the Gov.  to enroll Militia.  Had permission to sell liquor and powder to the Indians.  1687 removed to Rockaway, Long Island. Queens County, New York.  Commissioned 17 Mar. (yr. uncertain) Ensign in the Militia Service of Rhode Island.  1646 under Gov. Kieft of New Netherlands in Westchester County in campaign against Indians.
Will drawn Nov. 7 1693 and proved 30 Oct. 1694.
