1.  WILLIAM1 LATHAM1 was born Abt. 16092, and died Bet. 07 Nov 1645 - 06 Mar 1651 in Bahamas, Barbadoes, West Indies3,4.

William Latham was called a "boy" servant, and came with John Carver and family.  William Latham lived as a bachelor in Plymouth for nearly twenty-five years.  He is mentioned in the 1627 Division of Cattle, and several tax lists taken in the 1630s.  In 1638, Latham was fined several times with relatively minor alcohol-related crimes.  In 1645, William Latham's house was damaged by an accidental fire set by a neighbor.  William Latham left then for England, and sometime before 1651 went to the Bahamas where he and the group he was travelling with all starved to death.

He remained single his entire life in Plymouth, and there is no evidence he married in England between 1645-1651.  He has no known relation to the other Latham families in early Massachusetts.

The only William Latham baptism found in the I.G.I. parish register abstractions which could be the William Latham of the Mayflower is the one baptized on 4 February 1608 in Eccleston by Chorley, County Lancashire, England, son of Hugh and Eline Latham.
