Probate notes in the Anderson Democrat on Dec 21 1877 show James Vinson as deceased. Another note 19 Sep 1879 indicated Joshua Vinson as the heir to this estate working with John E Thurston. Final Settlement was in Dec of 1879 In a 9 Aug 1878 notice it shows he owned the following property. The SE 1/4 of the Nebraska 1/4 of section 1, twnship 21. north range seven east containing 40 acres more or less. Born 4 and one half miles north of Alexandria he spent his childhood on the farm. He came to Alex as a young man and took a position with a grocery store operated by a Mr William Kelly. He stayed in the grocery business until his failing health about 5 years before his death. He worked for the Hood store and JE Hall as well as the old Boston Store and the Leeson Store. Member of the Christian Church and the Knights of Maccabees.
