On his 18th birthday, Kevin Masterson was given his father's mace, who was the original Thunderstrike. However, Loki along with his army of trolls tried to steal the hammer and acquire the powers of it. Kevin brought together a new set of Avengers who went to get the hammer back from Loki. In a last ditch effort, Kevin was able to grab the hammer and acquire powers similar to his father.
Joining with the new Avengers, Kevin did his best to live up to his father's legacy as Thunderstrike. However, Kevin and the Avengers eventually dealt with what brought down the original Avengers, an alternate world ruled by Dr. Doom. While the Avengers over threw the dictator, Thunderstrike remained behind with the alternate version of his father. Since then, he has continued with the rebels of that world to fight off the last of the evil forces plaguing the planet.
Recently, Thunderstrike returned to his own Earth to deal with the very person that was responsible for his father's death, Seth. Since Seth's defeat, Thunderstrike has remained with the Avengers.
