1. WCW
WCW was plagued by problems throughout 2000. There were problems backstage that resulted in major stars leaving. The new Russo/Bischoff regime made things interesting, but didn’t help. WCW continued to lose lots of money and remain way behind the WWF.
2. ECW
It was a rough year for the extreme federation we all know and love. ECW’s show on TNN continued to get low ratings and was cancelled. Paul Heyman had serious money problems that really hurt the company. Major stars left and now ECW is pretty much dead.
3. XPW
XPW is an independent federation in Southern California that presents a disturbing style of extreme wrestling. The roster consists of no name wrestlers and ex-ECW stars, like Sabu and Chris Candido. The biggest moment of XPW’s year was crashing ECW’s pay per view event. They basically try to copy ECW and do a bad job of it.
