Worst Thing About 1999

1. Death of Owen Hart
At Over the Edge, Owen Hart, as the Blue Blazer, fell to his death in front of a sold out crowd. His death shocked and saddened the world. The WWF was using him to make fun of WCW and they went to far. Owen was an amazing wrestler and a great person in general. He will always be remembered and missed.

2. Sable leaves WWF, sues WWF
Sable (Rena Mero) was main bombshell of the WWF. She even appeared in Playboy, twice. But she left the WWF and sued for $110 million for sexual harrassment and other charges. She didnt win the case and she was replaced in the WWF by Debra.

3-tie. WCWs Hardcore matches
Everyone can agree that WCWs attempt at trying to be hardcore was pretty pathetic. With weapons like cookie sheets and hardcore wrestlers like Norman Smiley and Brian Knobs, the hardcore matches didnt do anything to help WCW.

3-tie. WWF forced to tone down
With sponsors pulling ads and the PTC on their case, the WWF decided to tone down Smackdown to a TV-PG rating. The language and sexual content were toned down a little, but all the violence was still there. There really wasnt too much of a difference.
