Ashley's Gripe Of The Week
I was talking with Renee today, and I realized there are a lot of things that really piss me off. So, for your reading pleasure, Ashley's Gripe Of The Week.
Week of April 2nd
I have two gripes this week. (Well actually, today, it's only Monday, but they're the gripes for the week now.) Anyways, the first has to do with a certain "sucky" band, and the second has to do with an MTV show.
Onto first gripe. My first gripe is Slipknot. I already know what some of you are going to say: "But you're a GOTHIC, and GOTHICS like Slipknot." Well I personally would like it if Slipknot's music and masks dropped off the face of the planet. Let me sit here to explain why I feel that way.
Their songs are monotonous. I was listening to the CD with one of my friends, and they're exactly the same. The only words I can pick out are "fuck", "damnit", and "hell". Those words also appear about fifty thousand times a song. Hey, here's an idea: Why not make a song about something besides how many times you can scream the word "asshole" into the microphone?? My other gripe is the masks. Ok, WHY THE HELL MUST THEY WEAR MASKS ALL THE TIME?? Hiding their identities behind spiky and blood-spewing masks isn't the way to get people to notice/like you.
I feel I have fulfilled the first gripe, onto the second. My second gripe is about that MTV show, Mission Makeover. Even if you've never seen it before, you can guess what it's about. My first gripe is the host. Molly Simms. I can't STAND her. She's like, 27 and she acts like she's 11. My second gripe is about the people who go on that show. You have to be pretty GD'd SHALLOW to go on that show. Here's what a typical request is:
"Oh my GOD MTV I look SOOOOO bad and I can't get a guy because of how I look so PLEEEEEEASE make me over!! I'M BEGGING ON MY KNEES HERE!! PLEEEEAAAASSSEE!!!"
You can't get much more shallow than that. And to top it off, most of them look worse than before. I watched one of the episodes during winter break (I think) and there were three girls with their boyfriends. The girls wanted the guys to get made over. I found the plot sickening in the first place, but I watched anyhow. I figured these girls were extremely shallow as well. Ok, if all you care about is how your boyfriend looks, I'm suprised you have a boyfriend. Relationships should NOT be based on how someone looks. If you're not satisfied with the total package, you two should break up because there's no point in dragging it out if you don't like him. So the guys got made over, and they looked REALLY bad afterwards, and all the girls are like "I love him EVEN MORE NOW!! .:squeal:." You love him even more now that he looks like you want him to?? What if HE doesn't like how he looks?? All the girls seemed to care about was that HE looked like THEY wanted him to. Frankly I find it all disgusting.
My gripe of the moment??
I'M SICK!!
Week of May Twelfth
Okay. I have one like, two-sentence gripe.
First gripe is the term "the shit". I HATE THAT TERM. It annoys the hell out of me, I want it to go away. IT IS SO STUPID.
That's all I have to say right now.......
