My Misty:
She taught me how to win with rapture, and how to lose gracefully.
She taught me what a conformation dog should be.
She taught me how to groom a show dog.
She taught me what that first owner-handled point feels like.
She taught me how to wait for the phone to ring when the handler has my girl.
She taught me what it’s like to sit home from the shows when you don’t have anything ready to show.
She taught me what finishing a dog really means.
She taught me what fun it is to open that envelope with a Championship certificate in it.
She taught me how to deal with the rush that runs up your spine when the judge points at you for Best In Show.
She taught me what fun teaching a ‘show’ dog to sit can be.
She taught me humility when the obedience judge said "I have to see her sit at least once!".
She taught me how to share my pillow with a buddy.
She taught me what unswerving love feels like.
She taught me how to train puppies.
She taught me how to let another be ‘head bitch’.
She taught me how to be woken up in the middle of the night by her just staring at me.
She taught me how to come in from the cold and bounce around like you’re young again.
She taught me how to grow old gracefully.
She taught me how to let go my own way.
Thank you for being my teacher, Misty.
