This was a pseudo Herding Instinct Test....our tester was Denise Teal (an AHBA herding judge and veteran herding exhibitor with shelties), and those who 'passed' got a certificate saying that their dog was Herding Instinct Certified....but it also said that it was NOT a title and that this was not supported by any official herding organization. The purpose was to explore the possibilities of herding ducks with these dogs and to see if it might be feasible to pursue classes in herding ducks. 10 of the 22 dogs who tried 'passed'! Pretty good!!!!
That said - the weather was perfect, the company cordial and a good time was had by all!
Since I took over 70 pictures...I've picked out the best of each dog and split them up into several pages so that loading won't take forever...
The organizers of this were Anita Paull (the driving force behind the idea - who was not able to attend....we missed you and hope you are feeling better!!), Terri Korthals and Laura Romanik.
We awarded DW (Duck Wrangler) titles to Terri and Laura for their work keeping the ducks happy and rested. Their dogs Teak and Bright also got into the act helping to pen the ducks. Bright's pics are included in the list....Teak's pics didn't come out (sorry!) but this pic of Terri wrangling (or is it wringing???) a duck did!
