Sergeants
The police department has four patrol sergeants and one detective sergeant.
Their duties include the supervision of all department employees, including patrolman and detectives.
Detectives
The police department has three detectives and one detective sergeant.
Their duties include investigation in major cases. They also perform interogation and follow-up work on complaints.
PHYSICAL FITNESS
The department prides itself on its physical fitness program. Officers have the option of using one hour of their shift to work out. Annually, officers are required to take the department's physical fitness test. Anyone hired after January 1st, 1989 must take the test, from Officer to Chief.
EVIDENCE TECHNICIANS
Evidence techs are trained in the
recognition, detection and preservation of physical evidence. They process such
evidence as latent fingerprints, shoe and
tire impressions, hair and fibers, and tool
marks.
ACCIDENT RECONSTRUCTIONIST
Accident Reconstructionists reconstruct
serious crashes based on the environment
of the accident, the roadway and the
vehicles and persons involved.
BIKES/SNOWMACHINES
Officers randomly patrol the city with bikes and snowmachines.
