Concert Rating: * * * * * Gravity Kills is a group to love for it's solid rocking rhythms. The music is infused with thick guitar, and random sampling. Good for thrashing, banging, dancing, or just plain getting crazy; this band is great big fun. In concert, they rock out with the crowd; at home, it's music to live to (but probably not to live by...). To date, Gravity Kills has released two full length original albums (Gravity Kills and Perversion) and also a full-length remix CD. I would recommend both albums. GK is currently working on songs for their next album. You can hear/download their new songs (Shake, Enemy) from mp3.com or by going to their official website. They play only in small clubs (when their record company offers them enough monetary support for them to tour). The mosh pit is never tame and neither are the band members. The shows are always cheap, and the band members are always willing to mingle with the crowd... sometimes even watching the opening bands play before they go on. Personally, I've seen them three times, and but have never actually stuck around to talk to the band members. Gravity Kills ranks among the few who have received my 5 star concert rating. If you can catch them in concert, you should. Barring the apperance of multiple crappy opening bands, you'll have a great time. |
