In Loving Memory
Happy Mother's Day, Mommy
I was only six years old,
When you went to live with God,
You took your newborn with you,
And left three of us behind.
My sister, brother and I,
Were little and needed you so,
One day you were with us,
And the next you had to go.
Vavó said you went to God
And wouldn't hurt anymore,
I wanted you to come back,
To the three of us once more.
I couldn't understand,
The sadness all around us,
I thought you were sleeping
And would soon come back to all of us.
I waited so very long,
To see your face again,
To have you hug and kiss me,
For always...and would never end.
As the years slipped slowly by,
I knew it would never happen.
You were safe in the Lord's arms,
Where you would stay forever.
I think of you so often
And wonder what might have been,
Having you and another brother,
To love and be together again.
I'll see you someday in heaven,
Where I know there's so much love,
"Happy Mother's Day, Mommy",
And to all Mother's up above!
The above poem are thoughts that have
been with me since I was six years old.
I am now 57 years young and after all these years,
my thoughts finally became words.
