Dybukkim

I find the world much more interesting
When I know there’s dybukkim all around me
You’ll find it a lot more satisfactory
When dreaming demons come to your desire
Red scarring faces, burning bright in orange light
Appear surreal before me when the snakebite enters my vein
My arm swells, becomes enlarged, and I can lay one more down with the roses tonight

Swirling cascades of pheromone perfume
So there’s only one thing I can think of
When you walk past
It’s hard enough with these dybukkim on my shoulders
To make the right choice
Your face cocooned in contorted convulsions, but it all seems normal

I keep a shell-like ear, ever disdained
At the great fortunes of doom everlasting
Grab my tail and I’ll just as easily eat your head
I carry a finch bound by barbed wire in my pocket
I follow no order - only disorder

My preference is with reason, and the dybukkim agree
If you survive one of my attacks, I wished you to live
Capture my face of light illuminating your sheets while you’re sleeping
And you will know me no more

Throw me against your surface, I dare you try
I will bounce back with an incomprehensible giggle
And hurl you the same path infinitely harsher

Your morale will be high, your motivation will be great
Once you realize your failure means your death

Good riddance, friends and neighbors, one paltry finger at a time
