PLAYER BIO

This weekend should be a fun and exciting one for me. My parents are making their return to Detroit for the first time since Opening Day along with some of my family from L.A. Usually, my parents can make about 3-4 trips a season. This season has been a little more difficult for them to make it up here because there were a lot of road games during the first part of the season. All wasn't lost because I was just home able to see them last weekend during the All-Star break. This will be the second game they came to this season. Hopefully, I can put up the same numbers I put up in our Opening Day shutout.
This weekend my family includes my Aunt Bobbie (my dad's sister) whose birthday is this weekend, so her husband and two daughters are also coming; I have been really close to them since childhood. It's going to be fun to have them all in attendance at the games this weekend, and I think my total for each game will be around 16 people. Hopefully, one of my presents for my aunt will be a few wins and even a series win as well.

After taking yesterday's game off, hopefully I can take advantage of the rest and carry it over to this weekend's start at the Bucs. Having a complete off-day for the first time in a while is sometimes much needed. With the humidity picking up, it starts to wear on the body a little bit, so the rest is good. Even with the off-day I was still ready to throw a side session in the bullpen, and at the end of the game I finished the day with a core and lower body lift.

A few guys on the team and I tried to move on and show support for the Lions in their preseason game against the Giants. We got a chance to get down on the field to see the teams warm up, and it confirmed my decision to not play football. Looking at those guys and seeing them twice as big as me but running just as fast as me made me very happy I was just on the sidelines. I met Calvin Johnson in person at a Cobras game right after the NFL draft, and he was big in street clothes. But to see him in pads now, at least physically, makes the Lions' pick look like a very good one. Finally, the Lions ended up winning that game too, so the day did end on a brighter note. Hopefully our season will follow suit.
