We asked Jeff about his first Sim of the season and he had this to say. “They really put on a great show for Opening Day. Detroit puts a lot of money into it to keep the Fans coming back for more. The Loons is a great team to play for Lance Parrish has taught me a lot last year. I hope this season will be a great one for me so maybe I can move up and maybe play in the Majors real soon”.
“In Game 1, on the 5th, we beat them 9 to 1. With some great pitching by Matthew Lash he went all the way in that game. I went 3 for 4 with two runs scored and three runs batted in. In Game 2, on the 6th we beat them 6 to 0. I pitched a one hitter in my first outing of the season. Dakota Duncan hit a three run homer for us in the second inning. Matt Hardy my brother had a couple of hits for us. Wendel Clark went 3 for 5 with a run scored. In Game 3, on the 7th, we beat them again 4 to 3 with some great pitching by Jarrod Parker and a nice save by Dash Riprock. Dakota Duncan kept his hitting streak going with a grand slam in the eighth inning. In Game 4, on the 8th, we beat them for the sweep 9 to 2. Cory Rasmus put on a clinic out there going all the way for us. Matt Landess had two home runs for us both of them was three run homers he had six runs batted in for us”.
On the road to Sioux Falls to play the Canaries. In Game 1, on the 9th, they beat us 2 to 1. We had some great pitching by Michael Lynn in that one. Dakota Duncan hit a home run for our only run of the game. Michael Lynn pitched a four hitter. In Game 2, on the 10th, we beat them 7 to 1. Matthew Lash only went one third of an inning giving up their one run he had soreness in his pitching arm so Lance took him out and put Wheeler in and Carson threw a hell of a game and got the win for us. Dakota Duncan got a base hit to keep his hitting streak alive. Matt Landess drove in three more runs to bring his total to nine now. In Game 3, on the 11th, we beat them again to take the series 3 to 1. I pitched another great game for us but we scored all three runs in the ninth to give Carson Wheeler the win. Dakota Duncan went hitless to break his hitting streak. Scotty Bridges got three stolen bases in the game and scored the winning run”.
“Back home again to play the Halifax Thunder. In Game 1, on the 12th, they beat us 10 to 6. Jarrod Parker picked up the loss for us. In Game 2, on the 13th, we beat them 2 to 1 on some great pitching by Cory Rasmus. In Game 3, on the 14th, we beat the 3 to 2 Brett Cecil got the win for us. Well Guy’s that’s all I have for now”.
