The King is here and doing well in the Off-Season. The King last season was drafted by the Detroit Cobras in the 16th Round 122nd Pick Overall in the 2007 Draft. The King ranked 4th in the League with 22 Saves. He pitched in 60 Games in Relief. His Record was 6 Wins, 8 Losses, 22 Saves, with a Earned Run Average of 5.88, he pitched 59 and two thirds Innings, giving up 86 Hits, 43 Runs, 39 Earned Runs, 3 Home Runs, 24 Base on Balls, Striking Out 46 Batters, with a WHIP of 1.84.
We talked to the King about this and he had this to say. “Well I really had an off and on season last year. If I was hot nobody could hit me and if I wasn’t then my pitches looked like beach balls coming up there. There was never in between for me last season. I’ve worked pretty hard in the off-season on this and I really hope I’ve got myself turned around so I can pitch the way I know I can. It’s been a real struggle trying to get where I want to be. This Detroit Team is going to be real good in a season or two and I want to be a major part of it. We have some great young hitters here and in the Minors so with the way this Team was built it was built for the future. Sure we lost 102 Games last year but that’s in the past. Billy Madison will turn things around this season. Aaron Jax will have another great season. Durka Grandlabad will pitch great again. So that leaves two openings on our Starters where there is going to be five Guy’s going for those two spots. Ken Kennedy, Ryan Larson, Phillip Chamberlain, Alex Pusi, and Rico Baliboa will be fighting for those two spots. I’ve never seen Alex and Rico pitch but from what I hear they’re both damn good. Both are going to be big stars in this League weather it will be this season or next season but they will be stars here”.
