Experimenter's Tesla Turbine Assembly Manual

Shaft Assembly - 2

May 31, 2003

In order to assure the correct bearing and shaft preloads, we must take and record two key measurements.

Temporarily bolt the (3) main case components together (bearing blocks and pump body). Measure and record the distance between the bearing seat surfaces using a caliper or similar device.

Note: This distance must be 2 inches precisely -- remove face material from the oil pump body or add paper gaskets to reach 2 inches.
