The Swinhoe Pheasant is a very colorful bird with it's contrasting colors of blues, blacks, maroons, white, and the red wattle encircling the eyes. This species does well in captivity. They attain their adult plumage the second year and they are well worth the wait. The hen of this species is also a very beautiful bird. The Swinhoe hen has feather markings which I consider very pleasing.
