This spell is to attract wildlife into your garden,
but only the
wildlife that you wish to see!

YOU WILL NEED:
* A small rattle made with various seeds from your
garden and whatever
natural materials that take your fancy. Gourds are
great, but so are
seed pods.

THE SPELL:
When you have completed your rattle, hold it to the
Earth and say:

GREEN MAN, GREEN WOMAN, GREEN CHILD, COME,
THEE THAT I CALL.
BY CRY AND BY HUM!

The whistle three times to the sky, to the Earth and
around you. When
you are ready to use the rattle, be it at noon or at
midnight, bring it
out and hold it up, saying:

WILD ONES OF FOREST, OF EARTH, AND OF AIR,
COME FROM THY NEST, COME FROM THY LAIR!
I CALL YOU TO JOIN ME, IN JOY AND IN PLAY-
I PROMISE YOU SAFETY, BY NIGHT AND BY DAY!
I CALL AND INVITE________AND_______AND______
(Here invoke only those critters you really want to
share your garden
with! Chipmunks, for example).
BY DAY AND NIGHT!

BRING TO ME JOY!
IN YOUR DELIGHT!

Repeat this as a chat and, shaking your rattle, dance
about the garden
at least three times. When done, touch the Earth and
see the wildlife
coming. They will come, in the flesh or in your
dreams.

Set the rattle in a safe place or bury it in the
garden at a special
spot.
