~JULIP TULIP~
Julip Tulip is a Louisiana Spotted Leopard Hog Dog Catahoula. Wow thats a mouth full. I adopted her from the local Animal Rescue. Her people mom had just passed away from complications of the flu (in her mid 30's). This happened almost to the day I lost my Mandie Sue. Our home was so quiet & empty with Mandie gone, we looked for another pet a couple weeks after her passing. Due to the time of year there were not many dogs at the shelters. We looked at a few, but nothing clicked. I called the local Animal Rescue, they had a few lab pups, and Julip a Catahoula. A Cata what? Her foster mom did not think my home would be best for her due to not having any other pets. Julip had been used to being around a lot of other animals. After several failed attempts to meet Julip, I finally had a phone interview with her foster mom. After talking with me she agreed to let the two of us meet. She brought her to town and while she attended a meeting, Julip & I got acquainted. I knew she was the one the first time I saw her. We walked and talked, got in the truck to get warm. She layed her head on my lap. I told her about losing my Mandie and how I was looking for a special dog to live with us. Asked her if she wanted to be that doggie. She sat up and gave me a kiss. I cried my eyes out. That was the only time she kissed me that night. It was a done deal. I adopted her that weekend. As soon as Julip came into the house she was at home. Sleeping in Mandies chair, and crawling in bed next to my husband the first night she was with us.
Julip is the sweetest, most loving dog I have had the pleasure to meet. I know my Mandie sent her to me, knowing I needed a special doggie I could grab & hug & hold, one that would love every minute of it & return the affection ten fold.
Thanks to all I learned from Mandie, Julip is reaping the rewards. She is on a totally raw food diet, with Super Blue Green Algae. It is a very easy diet to plan & put together and I would never go back to the commercial food. Julip is in wonderful shape, her coat is like silk. Her teeth stay clean & white on raw bones.
