06.06.03:    I haven't worked on this site in almost a year but I am starting

it up again. Since I am an A's fan, and became a Carlos fan while he was

with the A's, the page will be staying in A's colors--unless I can get someone

to make me a new cool layout.

²    Carlos is currently on the 15-day DL list, retroactive to June 2. His younger

brother, Omar, has been drafted, in the 16th round, by the St. Louis Cardinals.

06.25.02:    I added a new article.

06.20.02:    I haven't updated the site in foreverrr but its not because I've

forgotten about Carlos. I've just been too lazy and there isn't such info/ stuff

to say about Carlos since he was demoted. I added a few articles and a new

interview.

05.21.02:    It's not 100% "Official" yet, but reports out are saying

Carlos, Frank Menechino, & Jeff Tam are being sent down to Triple-A

Sacramento for Adam Piatt, Esteban German, and Larry Sutton.

Click here to hear Billy Beane's pre-game remarks on the moves.

05.19.02:    On a happy note, I got my first Carlos 8x10/Autograph . I bought

it off eBay, BUT it's authenticated (from Tri-Star & MLB) so I know it's

not some rip-off, AND I paid less for it than I know the seller did =). It's

a Rangers 8x10, that was signed last year, May 19, during a show in

Smyrna, TN. Maybe I'll stop being a big dork and start going to the A's

dugout before games, since I'm always there during BP anyway, so I can

get my *own* Carlos auto.

05.17.02:  Did everyone remember to wish Carlos a 'Happy Birthday' today?!

Yep the big 24! It's his birthday, and he gives US gifts =). Check out his

new journal entry and his first audio diary of the season, in their perspective

sections. Also Carlos sat out of tonight's game, (no it doesn't have anything

to do with the fact that he is 4-for- 37 [.108] over his last 14 games, and

hasn't had an RBI in like 40AB's), Art just wanted to be extra nice and give

him his birthday off [..<big grin>.. or that's just what I like to think].

²    And in today's paper it says:

Later in the evening, Pena singled in the sixth for his first hit on the road since

April 11. But the rookie, who is just 4 for his past 37, is in no danger of losing

his spot, according to A's general manager Billy Beane. "Carlos is our first

baseman for the foreseeable future," Beane said. "He's going through what

you'd expect from any young player his first year in the major leagues would

go through. There are some things he's done very well and some things he

could improve on. . . . He is our first baseman."

05.16.02:    Today was Carlos Peña Day at Northeastern University. They

held a birthday celebration and gave him a miniature replicate of a statue

of Cy young. The only other two players to be given copies of the statue

are Boston's two Cy Young winners Jim Lonborg & Roger Clemens. Carlos said,

"It's pretty cool"

²    The site has been having problems, and I am still trying to figure out what

they are and how to fix them. Also I am aware that not all of the links on

the navbar are functional, that is because I have yet to do the pages. If

you have any problems on the site with links, pages loading, etc., please

e-mail me so that I can know what other people are experiencing.

05.14.02:    Carlos went 0-for-4 in the A's 6-2 loss. He has just two hits in

his last 30 at-bats. Carlos said, ''We're giving it all we've got, but the

last couple of weeks have been difficult".

²     Did you hear Carlos' dad whistling when he came to bat? If not, you

can hear him 'perform' in the media section.

²    Tonight the A's open up a 3 game series in, Carlos' adopted hometown,

Boston. Opening up the series are pitchers Tim Hudson and John Burkett.

Want more info on Tim Hudson?, Then check out my friends site:

Tim Hudson Fan Page!

²    I've uploaded the A's magazine pictures, they are in the Oakland A's gallery.

05.13.02:    I just finished typing up the A's magazine article.

Click here to read it...Pictures from the article to be up soon!

05.12.02:    Carlos was not in the starting line-up for the 2nd day in a

row. Manager Art Howe said "Olmedo needs an opportunity to play--

especially against somebody he's had success against, Carlos is going

to be back in there in the very near future."

²  There is a nice article, with a BIG picture, of Carlos in the A's magazine,

Issue May 2002 (Eric Chavez on the cover). When I have time I will type

up the article and scan the pictures =).

05.10.02:    Carlos shares the cover of Baseball weekly, Issue of May 8-14,

with Nick Johnson. Click here to read the cover story.

05.08.02:    Carlos finally got a hit tonight, in the Bottom 9th, snapping his

0-19 streak. His last hit was 04.28 vs. White Sox.

(My thoughts: I think it had something to do with his 'white elephants' theory,

BECAUSE right before he got his hit there was a delay, when a streaker ran

onto the field, then Carlos got the hit, he might say he wasn't trying too hard,

but I think he was, and the streaker was his 'giraffe'. =))

05.02.02:    Carlos has been named AL Rookie of the Month for April 2002.

 Congratulations!
