Hello everyone!

Greetings ATY Fans - just a few words from the AAA road lifestyle. We are currently in a stretch of Omaha and Iowa - nice places, especially with the weather being warm. Some of the veterans on the team have always scared me that these places can be brutal as late as May, weather- wise. Growing up in Massachusetts and playing college baseball early spring in the Northeast, I am used to playing in that weather - but you never really love doing it. We were lucky that this heat wave came through. Both are nice ballparks, hitters' parks especially when the winds are blowing out. Omaha in particular can be a great hitting place, as seen many times by you fans at the college world series. I can see why there are such big numbers sometimes in the College World Series with aluminum bats. Balls hit with aluminum that get up into the jet stream could go for miles here. It is pretty cool to see this place as they gear up for their own little Omaha World Series.

My play has been ok as of late - my hamstring was giving me some problems but nothing in particular. As a hitter, sometimes it takes some time to get comfortable at the plate. Statistics can be misleading, as sometimes the numbers are good when you are not seeing the ball particularly well while other "Ofer" games may actually have been 4 hard shots for outs. Such is life for a hitter, but I am feeling better all the time.

Travel has been tough with some early flights to the visiting cities like Salt Lake, Des Moines, Omaha… There are definitely worse things to do, but the flights sometimes wear you out. A night game, followed by a 4:30 AM wake up, a flight, and another night game wears you out eventually. I try to catch up on sleep as much as possible the first few days of the trip.

We are on the road now for 11 days and I am already wishing for my own bed!
