i'm fineThen I felt as if I was moving backwards. It was one of the most interesting feelings I've ever had. It was quickly interrupted by the car door opening and closing. It startled me."You alright?" "Yeah. Yeah, I'm good." "Heh, alright. Let's go." "Right." We rolled down the street at 10 kilometers an hour. Actually, though, we were going the regular 50 of city streets, but I couldn't tell. It was 10 to me. The next thing I knew, we arrived at our destination. I stepped out of the car and paused. "We're late," I just stared, I didn't hear her say it, but she did. "What are you looking at?" "I'm fine." "I didn't ask if you were fine. But now that you mention it, I'm not so sure you are." "I said I'm fine." "Gotcha. Let's just get going." She grabbed me by the wrist and pulled me along. My legs agreed and I was walking behind her. But I was just staring at the back of her head. I caught glimpses of her face here and there. I didn't know, or care, where we were going, as long as I was being lead. I once heard of a condition called motion blindness. That's when it's like you're missing every other frame from a movie. It's choppy. I felt like I had motion blindness, so I was tripping over myself. I just wanted to sit down. I blinked, but when I opened my eyes I was in a new place. I was sitting. Half sitting, half falling. I was afraid to blink again. Though I don't know why I said it, I remember saying it. "I said I was fine. Where am I?" "We're in buddy's basement" I felt a terrible pain in my head and my right shoulder. The sleeve of my shirt was torn. I instinctively lifted my left hand to my forehead above my right eye. Blood. "You passed out, in the parking lot." "No I didn't. I blinked." "You're in rough shape." "Who are you?" "This is my house." "I'm fine. Let's go now." "You're not fine. Sleep." "No." "Yes." "Okay." When I opened my eyes it was dark. I sat up in place. I didn't know where I was. I tried to stand but stopped. I felt weak. I felt a cool sweat running down my back. I had to get out of there, but I needed more sleep. I laid back down and closed my eyes again. This time I awoke to voices, muffled by a closed door. I felt much better. I looked around and realized that I was at home. Sunlight filled the room. I was still in my clothes from the night before and they were still blood soaked.
