The New High School Building

     The new high school building, which will be completed in 1928, will have 187 rooms.  Modern equipment and furnishings will be used throughout.  Among the many interesting features are the music department, consisting of five rooms, which will occupy the entire fourth floor, a beautiful auditorium which will seat 1600 and an up to date machine shop in the basement.

     Athletics will be given a prominent place in the school life.  There will be a sixth of a mile cinder track with a 100 yard straight-away, a football field, baseball diamond, four tennis courts, three outdoor basketball courts and a swimming pool 66 feet long.  The gymnasium will have 23 rooms-lockers, showers, visitor' rooms-and will be equipped for all indoor sports and exercises. 

     This was the vision of Miami Senior High from l927 to 2002. Miami Senior High has remained a wonderful tribute to all that has entered these rooms.  As a l958 graduate, I continue to remember all the wonderful times and lifelong friends I have made. I will continue to think of my school days and all the good times we had.  This is a tribute to all my classmates who I hope will continue to keep the tradition of Class Reunions since l968, our first.  Hope we will never forget all the wonderful memories .
