Not formers
The following locations are known to be inaccurate listings for places that never existed:
- Arby's and Burger King at the BP station (now Beacon and Bridge) at 820 N. Saginaw St. in Holly. Both of these, along with Taco Bell Express, are listed in a 1997 phone book, but there is no evidence that they ever opened, and the station is clearly not big enough to have ever had all three. Taco Bell Express was open in the station, but nothing else ever was.
- Dairy Queen at 1835 N. US-23 in East Tawas. I have no idea where this listing came from; 1785 was a lumberyard (now the site of an Art Van Furniture) and 1859 is a car lot, with nothing in between.
- Sonic Drive-In at 850 N. Perry St. in Pontiac. This is a former Church's Chicken that's now a Coney Island. It was called Sonic Coney Island for a while, which led to some sources listing it as a Sonic Drive-In.
- Subway at 4262 E. Court St. in Burton. This shows up only in a 1997 Flint phone book and doesn't appear to have ever been an actual address. 4190 is Staples, and 4274 is a Lowe's built around 2002, with nothing in between. This may be a mistyped listing for the short-lived Courtland Center location.
- Subway at 621 E. Lake in Harbor Springs. This is a nonexistant address in the middle of a residential area. I have checked every Cheboygan/Emmet County phone book from 1996 through 2007, and none list a Subway in Harbor Springs.
- Dunkin' Donuts at 14990 State St. in Hillman. Some sources list a Dunkin' Donuts inside the Sunoco station at this address, but this is not corroborated by any listings.
