Oil
Mood:  accident prone
Topic: Hot Topics
I am really tired of hearing about gas and oil. Sunday night December 11th at 11:00 pm they mentioned oil. The news said that OPEC president was not going to pump any more oil. Personal I believe that we are ok for oil. The gas keeps increasing because corporations are playing with the public. I think that if it was at all possible we should boycott gas.
What are your thoughts on gas and oil?

Yes, i think that the prices are getting insane, but if we didnt use gas there would be alot of things that would never get done. I mean we wouldnt beable to fly on planes, drive, and if other people boycotted too then companies may not get things delivered so certain stores or food places may not be open. I think all the scientists should just focus on finding a substitute for gas thats not a natural resource.

i'm tired of hearing about gas and oil also. my solution to that problem might not be very logical, but perhaps we wouldn't hear so much about them if Hybrid Cars were cheap enough that they could be made available to most who drive.

I agree. Gas is used for so many things. We would be nowhere without it. It is too bad that there arent very many substitutes and I'm sure if there were, problems would probably occur with substitutes.

i agree with nicole. They've found a solution and are not really doing anything to make more people have the cars.

Gas prices are too much, but i agree with bleu that we can't just stop using it. it would not help businesses to stop using it, but the prices should be lowered.

A lot of things that occur during a given day involve either gas or oil, so it is foolish to want to boycott gas. Like Bleu said, stores could shut down if this boycott occurs because products would not be able to be shipped to their stores. Also, the use of hybrid cars would help a lot, but like nicole said, they cost a lot of money. There really is no way out of this predicament, but boycotting gas will only make this problem worse simply because stores will start to close, and other businesses will start to decline. There is no logical sense in making the problem worse, and a boycott against gas will only accomplish that.

I agree with Ian. This country is toooooo dependent on oil. It is the backbone of out economy. If you want to take away the oil problem create a solution. All boycotting will do is cause more problems. This would like Ian said, cause business to shut down because they would not be getting their products. What we need to do is find an alternate source of energy. What we need to do is take 10 of the worlds smartest scientist, lock them in a room and don't let them come out untill they come up with a solution!

I agree with Blue. I think that we have to find substitute for our oil. I mean sooner or later we are going to run out of oil, and we would not have nothing to substitute it with. I guess its sad that our own government tries to squizze us from our money, with things that we use the most.

Not relating to the topic.
Muskegon Chronical 12/14/05 3A
On the chronical today a Dearborn, Michigan resident, who works as a auto mechanic went to vote on Tuesday. A national election where they are to vote for the 275-member. This election would be the first fully constitutional election since Saddam Hussein in 2003.
Question: what are your thoughts on the Iraq election?

my thought on gas are bad. the oil compaies are selfish and need to be controled by the government. the prices are to high and they move up and down to much. they need to find a price and keep it there. it is like they are playing games with are money and minds.

About it being fully constitutional (the election for a new president) well i dont think that it was fully constitutional because thats one regarding our constituion and i bet you that if we would have had saddam as a candidate that he would have either won or barely lost. There were alot of people who supported him who said that they didnt appreciate america butting in on their personal country affairs.

Let's try not to think about gas and oil so much. Try to think more about the gas and oil substitutes. As soon as they are introduced, we will be in economic heaven.

Boycotting gas at this time and hour would be the worst idea in the long, sad history of bad ideas. Gas was how we started. Although the prices are getting insane, we should think more about how to conserve money, rather than try to conserve energy.

We probably won't need gas that much longer because specialists are discovering substitutes for gas that will be healthier for the environment. The day will soon come where we won't have to depend on fossil fuels for fuel.
