In the Chronical on October 12, 2005 there is a topic stating,"Muskegon not ready to pick new school boss." The onl candidate for this position has been Sharron Jenkins Norman. She was a Lansising administrator that the school board said no. They said that they would have to get more candidates before choosing her. The board would also like to go to her hometown to find out more about her. The Board would also like to have the vote unanimous. If Norman was to find out that the board was looking for other candidates she would drop out. Should the board look for other candidates or pick Sharron J. Norman?

Too Many Schools, Not Enough Students

Citizens believe that there are too many schools, but not enough students to occupy them. All together, it is estimated that there are 2,500 students under capacity. Schools may have to be shut down due to the shortage of children. Because schools are basically empty, tax payers complain about where their money is going. Tehy believe their taxes should not go towards the schools and towards activities and other programs. In the years to come, about 1,000 seats are expected to be empty in the schools all around. It is up to the Board on what should take place.
