:: How to Defeat Goro ::
At the beginning of the round, jump towards him, and more times than not he'll rip hurl fireball underneath you. Immediately after landing, follow through with a projectile of your own. If you're playing as Sub-Zero, you can uppercut and freeze again immediately, and repeat. Kind of cheap, but hey, who's complainin'?

If you're not playing as Sub-Zero, then follow this technique. Once you hit him with the projectile, jump away and crouch block as soon as you land, but only for a moment, to see if he blasts another fireball in your direction. If he does, block and immediately jump towards him, throwing your leg out as soon as you leave the ground. Again, more times than not, you'll connect. Afterwards, follow up with your character's projectile, and jump away.

If he doesn't release his fireball, jump back again and wait. Repeat this until you are in the corner, where you should stand and wait for him to approach. Wait until he is just beyond sweep range, and jump back, against the corner, and kick. He'll either block--where you would you try again--or he'll release a fireball. If he releases a fireball your kick will hit him from very far away, as Goro stretches towards you when firing his fireball. Follow this up with a projectile, and again wait for him to approach, and jump against the corner again and kick. This is much easier for Cage, Liu Kang, Kano, Raiden, Sub-Zero, and Scorpion. When playing as Sonya, it's a little more difficult, and Goro might approach too close and grab you as you land.

If you are forced to jump towards him, do so, and throw your leg out as soon as early as possible. If it doesn't connect, jump away with the kick button pressed immediately after you lwave the ground. This will connect quite often, if he doesn't grab you before you can pull it off.

If you're thrown into the corner with Goro nearly standing on top of you, uppercut as soon as you get up. This will always connect, and you can follow up with a projectile.

Genrally, it is possible to get double attacks against Goro, but he inflicts twice the damage you do, so you're at the AI's mercy when trying to defeat him. Even for the best of players, Goro might decide to block everything you throw at him, and there's nothing you can do about it.
