 What is a Tropical Rainforest? Rainforests are very dense, warm, wet forests. They are havens for millions of plants and animals. Tropical Rainforests are extremely important in the ecology of the Earth. The plants of our earth generate much of the Earth’s oxygen.

 

  Where are Tropical Rainforests? Tropical Rainforests are located in a band around the equator, mostly in the area between the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn. This 3000 mile wide band is called the “tropics”.

 

  How many seasons are there in a Tropical Rainforest? There are only two seasons in tropical rainforests, the wet season and dry season. Over 80 inches of rain fall each year which equals out to 11/2 inches of rain each week.
