Levels of Power

This title of this story and the subsequent chapters are drawn from ancient martial arts hand-signals called ‘kuji-kiri’—meant to draw on energy and influence surroundings. The title comes from the Nine Levels of Power; each chapter is titled with the actual hand-signal and then what that signal was supposed to accomplish.
