Arkania is a valuable planet. It's mining contributes significantly to the Imperial treasury
and shipbuilding funds, while the Arkanians themselves have impressive technical skills,
particularly in cybertechnology.
NIF-Developed History:
Arkania was liberated from slavers during C2M4. The planet raised up in rebellion against
the outlaws when the arrival of NIF increased morals and firepower. The inhabitants have
been fiercly loyal supporters of the Empire ever since. An important rebel ship in disguise,
the Arkanian Dawn was captured by intelligence agents and now serves the NIF. The
slavers were revealed to have support in secrecy from the New Republic. All surviving
slavers were sentenced to labour for life on the cold tundra to obtain the gems they
previously stole. The Dark Jedi uncovered several important Sith artifacts in the old Jedi
temple while defeating Dark side beasts and a Sith apprentice who likely were on a similar
mission.
Official Star Wars History:
Arkania, in the Colonies region, is famed for its diamond mines where miners extract
melon-sized gems from the planet's crust. Originally part of the ancient Sith Empire,
Arkania is a planet which have a great deal of Dark Side energy.For this reason, it was the
world watched over by Jedi Master Arca Jeth during period leading up to the Great Sith War,
4000 years ago. The Arkanians themselves are unpleasant and arrogant, and they dislike many
visitors - when they deign to notice their existence at all. Centuries ago, the
scientifically-minded Arkanians began cyber-enhancing the brains of their primitive
neighbors, the Yaka. Soon the stocky Yaka were one of the most intelligent and quick minded
species in the galaxy, with a bizarre sense of humor to match. Animal life on the planet
includes the Arkanian dragon and jellyfish. During the years leading up to the Clone Wars, a
theraputic cloning center was established on the planet, to generate replacement organs for
individuals suffering from life-threatening diseases. Much to the dismay of these
individuals, the onset of the Clone Wars brought about a halt to any non-military cloning,
under Republic Senate decree.
