- The name Fairfowl/Fairful was found in the bailies of St. Andrews (on the border with Cameron), Fifeshire, Scotland in 1489.
- Sir John Ferfulle, chaplain, was a witness in Cupar, Fifeshire, Scotland in 1511.
- A William Fairfull, was a clerk in the Dunkeld diocese in 1550, in Perthshire, Scotland.
- Mr. John Fairfoull or Farfull was a schoolmaster in Dunfermline from 1582-1585.
- Jonet/Janet Fairfull was the heir of Andrew Fairfull, a Scot in Pettinweyne in 1646. Pittenweem was anciently a priory, and is now a part of Anstruther-Wester on the south coast of Fife.
- Alexander Fairfoul was a shoemaker is St. Andrews and Robert Phennesoune, was his relation from his maternal side in 1653.
- Andrew Fairfowl, son of John Fairfowl of Anstruther, Fifeshire, Scotland was archbishop of Glasgow in 1552.
- Another Hairfull was listed in 1680.
