Well kids, the news is good and bad. Claire called Rose Nagy and they spoke for about an hour and Frank is really on borrowed time. When he had his check up in November they told him 4-6 months and he is now on his 7th month. That is the only good news I have. I am having a hard time composing this e-mail because sadness is sometimes overwhelming. I guess the song, "Only The Good Die Young" is very true sometimes. Frank's state of mind is truly something to admire. He is cheerful, smiling and never lets on how uncomfortable his really is. He and Claire have been making the most of their time by just saying to hell with the daily grind and focusing on just the two of them. They go to dinner with friends, his buddies pick him up for karaoke night, they spent a couple of weeks in Florida recently with two other couples and he told Claire that he doesn't want to see any tears just smiles. He told her to save that for "after". Classmates, we MUST send Frank some "happy" cards NOW! PLEASE! Let's let him know that he is on our minds and in our prayers. As soon as I hear anything further, I will let you all know. Address: Frank Tomei 13371 Winona Drive Sterling Heights, MI 48312 If anyone wants to do research on the "very, very rare and fast moving" type of cancer that Frank has it is called, "Anaplastic Thyroid Cancer". If anyone knows anyone that has or have had it and can think of any "tips" to give them, please let me know. Thank you, St.Anthony Family. NOW GO GET THAT CARD!! > JoAnn |
