THE NOSE
Peterbilt 359-119 Set Back Front Axle heavy tractor. I started with the AM/Ertl reissue kit. Modified the cab with the "severe service windshield mask," a resin bumper, hood and grille that I made the patterns for, (cast by Bobby Griffen, www.griffendesigns.com). Resin wheels and tires, tool boxes and cab guard from RNK Conversion (www.rnkconversions.com) and a resin 5th wheel from Clint Freeman Componants. Nameplates are from Model Car Garage.
BUBBLE NOSE
Peterbilt 350 cabover with livestock body. Thanks to Evan Hermel for the inspiration for this west-coast style truck. Cab is resin, wheels and tires are resin from RNK Conversions
CLAIRMONT
Mack R-600 wearing the fallen-flag fleet colors of Clairmont Transfer Company.
PAYSTAR
International Paystar 5000 tractor. Basic old Ertl kit, with spoke wheels, RNK Diamond Plate toolbox, and aluminum tube exhaust stack.
The real Paystar I used for inspiration.
CROUCH
International Transtar II wearing Crouch Brothers logos. Cab is a resin conversion. Chassis cut down to single axle.
PAYNE & DOLAN
Mack F700 in gleaming condition. The cab is a resin conversion from Model Truck & Fire Apparatus
Company.
. Scratchbuilt chassis. I later reworked this truck, adding lots of weathering and dirt, even "cracks" to the
windshields. I entered it in a model contest in Marquette, Michigan. It won "Best Rust Bucket!"
WIDE FRONT LONG HOOD
1967 Peterbilt wide front long hood 359. Rebuild of an
old AMT T500 kit. A resin hood from Spaulding Shipping and Trading.
The paint scheme was
inspired by a model that Phil Jensen featured in his 1973 book "Building Model Trucks."
