DONALD DUCK From Emeryville, California
Late 1960's International DCF-405, also called a Transtar-400, or Emeryville (built in Emeryville, California). The truck was nicknamed Donald Duck by some. It does have that "Donald is frustrated by something" look!
I scratchbuilt the cab and interior, and sent it to Bobby Griffen at www.griffendesigns.com to cast copies of. The truck sits on a donor AMT Diamond Reo chassis, misc International componants.
The Duck wears Indianhead Tank Lines colors, a defunct fleet that ran many of these trucks
And these
AUTOCAR
Autocar A64B. Box stock except for the wheels. This was a built-up from EBAY. It was green red and orange.
PIRKLE
1972 Peterbilt long framed 352, inset stacks, custom made fuel tanks (Thanks RNK!), scratchbuilt air conditioner. Wearing Pirkle Refrigerated Freight banners. Pirkle was based out of Madison, Wisconsin.
TRANSCON
White Road Boss wearing the fallen-flag fleet Transcon colors. This was previously my long hood Red Owl Foods Road Boss. I cut the hood down, stripped the paint, shortened the wheeelbase, swapped in polished wheels and tanks, new stack, air deflector, and fresh paint.
Transcon doorsigns and the airshield logo are available from RNK Conversions
BEDBUGS!
Beat up and abused Ford LN8000 wearing Allied Van Lines colors.
1960's White Freightliner single drive tractor, sleeper cab with inset single exhaust. Modified air intake. The trailer is the AMT Trailmobile Moving Van kit cut down to a single axle.
NARROW NOSE
My 1964 Peterbilt 281 California style tractor. Thank's to Huston Marlowe for the inspiration on this truck!
The truck is parked at the Mackinac Bridge over Lake Michigan
Rear suspension. I added the air lines, and moved the shocks to the correct location for a Stabilair single rear axle set-up.
Not much chrome, simple paint scheme...just as George B. designed it.
NEEDLE NOSE
1965 Kenworth W921 needlenose conventional. I scratchbuilt the hood and grille. The sleeper is a resin Mercury bunk by Spaulding Trading and Shipping. The chassis sports 3 RNK Conversions tool cabinets, a CFC rear lightbar, scratchbuilt deck, straight pipes and a 300 inch wheelbase.
These 2 KW's were painted from the same can of paint. A nice matched pair!
