"Rest Assured", a delightful comedy involving teen-age-parents conflict, ghosts, and many rollicking laughs, was enjoyed by audience, crew and cast. The director was very proud of the students’ performance. A lot of hard work went into the production of the clever comedy." 1978 Annual

"The 77-78 Panther season could be described in three words: Unpredictable, hustle, and hard work. Cass Lake had a year long habit of being unpredictable. There were times when the Panthers played excellent basketball. There were also times when they played very poor basketball. We never reached that happy medium known as consistency. Scores such as 98-58 win over Nevis and a 100-57 loss to Northome help illustrate the fact that the fans never know what they would see from night to night.
Lacking height and experience it was hustle and hard work that accounted for the periods of good play. Even though the record of wins and losses was a disappointment to players and coaches alike, the boys who played all year should be commended for never giving up and playing hard at all times." 1978 Annual

"CONCIONEROS" is a Spanish word meaning "singer", which makes it an appropriate name for our senior high pops group. The Concioneros perform for two concerts during the school year, as well as singing for community groups and special events. Although the emphasis is on a unique vocal sound, rhythms and dance movements will be added to enhance each performance." 1978 Annual.

"FHA stands for Future Homemakers of America. The group hopes to develope and use homemaking skills while learning to work together; to promote nutrition in the community; to promote spirit in the group through various social activities.
This year, as in the past, Trick or Treating for UNICEF was a community event for FHAer’s around Halloween. The 50’s Sock Hop wa a fun example of the group’s money-raising efforts." 1978 Annual

"The Panther football team finished the season with an excellent 8-1 record (7-0) in the conference). This years team had many good football players whose attitude and all effort meant winning several close ball games. Captians Blane Senn and Brian Goss did a very fine job. Wayne Boh lead the team rushing and broke the school record (1306 yds.). Kevin Fuller lead the defense with the most tackles.
Named All-Conference players were: Blane Senn, Kevin Fuller, Jeff Reimer, Doug Hoftiezer, Rich Norenberg, Wayne Bohn. The most-talked-about player was Pete Johnson of whom teammate Brian Goss complained "He gets too much publicity", while Billy Reynolds commented, "He’s outta sight!" 1978 Annual

"Traditionally the club holds initiation for the new members and sings Christmas carols in German throughout the town during Christmas eve. The Sauerbraten dinner, and this years' Valentine activities were again sponsored by the German Club. Most memorable, however, is the experience of two full weeks in Germany, which some members have had and which others will experience in the near future." 1978 Annual
NOTE: Trips to Germany were taken every two years and only Juniors and Seniors were allowed to travel. This class visited Germany as Juniors.

"Despite the weather this years' Homecoming was the best in a long time. The seniors worked hard decorating the auditorum for the dance. Enthusiasm ran high at the pepfest with everyone waiting in anticipation for the coronation of Queen Julie and King Blane; while outside the floats were getting soaked. The parade was a huge success with every class participating. Later, everyone wound their way to the football field in a snake dance where we beat Big Fork to show that snow, rain and sleet can’t dampen our spirits." 1978 Annual
"The Indian Club was organized for the Junior and Senior High students of Cass Lake to promote an awareness of the Indian identity so that both cultures in the school can learn from each other with a true feeling of brotherhood.
Students attend other Indian Club activities, go on field trips and in a sense, acquaint each other with other cultural values." 1978 Annual

"Precious are the reflections of the Pine Murmurs Paper Staff. This 1977-78 school year marks the fourth consecutive year that the Paper Staff has received the B.S.U.-Pioneer Trophy for excellence in Journalism. Brenda Beebe, 1977-78 Editor-in-Chief, accepted the award at the 31st Annual Journalism Conference, held each year at Bemidji State University.
The most important thing to the staff is that they are concerned and caring. They are interested in what’s happening and how they can relate it to the students of the school, and they care about the quality of their paper. They want it to be THE BEST." 1978 Annual

"On May 7, the 1976-77 Junior Class held the 1977 Junior-Senior Prom. The auditorum was in grand array, with flashing lights, sparkling stars, and glittering streamers.
The Rainbow Riders provided the music that night, and what a performance it was. With the sounding notes of ever popular music swayed the mass of bodies to the beat.
The 1976-1977 Junior Class, with the theme "Precious Reflections", thought that Prom was the best Cass Lake High School had experienced, and would like to see if any other class could possibly top it." 1978 Annual

The Student Council is an organization dedicated to the school, their fellow students, and the future. Some of their projects this year have been Slave Day, a Christmas film and working towards a student lounge.
"As the old saying goes, 'If at first you don’t succeed, try and try again...'" and boy did they try.
The 1976-77 track team had a dazzling season last year with a lot of enthusiasm and dedication. They topped off their season by sending Laurel Teal, John Raboin, Dennis Mabb and Mary Adkins to Regions. The runners and one jumper, put on a good show but unfortunately no one went on to state." 1978 Annual

"The volleyball team had a great season this year. They worked very hard, even the Pee Wee’s, the 7th and 8th graders. After the loss of seven seniors last year the A-team really had to work hard to get back on their feet to win eight out of twelve games." 1978 Annual
