STATEMENT OF FAITH
While there are many homeschooling parents and homeschooling organizations, it is our wish to be a distinctively Christian homeschool organization. At the same time, we have no intention of replacing the local congregation in the systematic teaching of its members; nor do we wish to encourage parents or students to adopt any one particular Christian denomination. Neither do we wish to exclude parents and children from the benefits of our homeschool organization who do not regard themselves as Christian or hold to all our beliefs. Yet, we feel that it is necessary to ensure that our children are directed toward Jesus Christ and Christian morals and principles, and that the leaders of this organization believe the following Biblical teachings:
- The one true God is the Triune God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. There is only one God (Deut. 6:4, I Cor. 8:4). Yet, the Father is fully God; the Son is fully God; and the Holy Spirit is fully God (Matt. 28:19, John 17:3, 20:28: Titus 2:13, Acts 5:3,4).
- Jesus Christ is in one Person both true God and true man. Jesus Christ is the true God, equal to God the Father and God the Holy Spirit (John 20:28, 1 John 5:20). He is also true man (1 Tim. 2:5, Luke 24:39, John 1:14).
- Jesus Christ died on the cross in payment of the sins of all people. We had for our sins deserved God's punishment (Rom. 6:23, Gal. 3:10); but Jesus paid the full penalty of the world's sins on the cross (John 3:16, Romans 5:8, Gal. 3:13, II Cor. 5:21).
- The body of Jesus Christ literally rose from the dead to life. On the third day after His death, Jesus' body came back to life (Luke 24, I Cor. 15:1-11, John 2:19-21). This guarantees that the bodies of believers shall be raised to life when Jesus comes again (I Cor. 15:12-28, I Thess. 4:13-18).
- We are saved from our sin and God's wrath through faith in Jesus Christ alone and not by any human works or efforts. No individual can make himself right with God by his own deeds (Luke 17:26-27, Eph. 2:1). Nor do a person's deeds assist in the least. We are saved through faith alone, apart from works of the law (Romans 3:24, 28, Eph. 2:8-9, Gal 2:16).
- The universe was made by God through an act of special creation in six normal days. Though God could have made the universe within any time period, the Scriptures indicate that He did so in six normal days. (Gen. 1, Ex. 20:8-11, Romans 5:12). The theory of evolution is a false theory which does not convince, even apart from Scripture.
- The Bible is complete and sufficient to answer anything we need to know... for eternal salvation and for practical wisdom concerning our relationships, morality, character, conduct, and training of our children (Prov. 30:5-6, Rev. 22:16, Ps. 19:7, Luke 16:17, II Tim 3:14-17, Matt. 24:25).
