"When did she call!?" Taylor asked Isaac frantically. "Calm down Tay, it was about an hour and a half ago, ok she said she'd be all right!" Isaac replied hastily. "I'm going to call her!" Taylor Declared. He let the phone ring about twenty times and there was no response. "There's no one picking up!" Taylor threw Ike a concerned glance. "She's probably in the hospital with her mother, Tay, get a grip ok!!" Isaac patted him on the back and ran up the stairs. "I don't think she is..." Taylor muttered to himself.
The walls were a bright white color, Jordan's eyes slowly opened. She took in the scenery with her eyes. She was laying on a hard bed, that was covered with white startched linen. It took her a minute to realize where she was. An I.V. stand was standin soitary next to the hospital bed, in which she lay. The steady beeping of the E.K.G. Monitor was the only sound in the room. "You're awake." She heard her brother say softly. His voice startled her, causing her to nearly hit the ceiling. She didn't say anything, she just looked at him, when he continued, "why did you do it Jordie?" He asked quietly. She didn't know how to respond, "I didn't have another way out." She simply replied. "Yes you did, and at least you didn't die, you were unconcious when I found you, they had to pump your stomach." "Where's mom, have we found her yet?" Jordan asked. "Yeah, it seems that the receptionist didn't know what she was talking about, mom's in the Intensive Care Unit on the fourth floor." "Have you seen her yet?" Jordan asked feling a little bit brighter. "yeah, she's doing well, she needs surgery though, her right rib broke and she has a moderately sized laceration above her right eye, and her liver is leaking and.." "ok Andy enough with the gorey details!" She said disgustedly. "Sorry guess I got a little too carried away..." They laughed a little, it was nervous laughter, but it was better than none at all. "When will I get to see her?" She asked. "Probably tomorrow, you need your rest!" He said. "What time is it?" She asked. "It's 10:00." He answered matter-of-factly. "Tell mom I love her ok?" Jordan asked hopefully, "yeah I will, I'll come back in a little while to check on you." He said while stepping out of the room. Jordan felt a sharp pain in her stomach. "Why did I do that!?" She said aloud, scolding herself for making such a stupid mistake. She noticed a phone on the small chest next to her bed. She picked it up and dialed nine, to dail out, and called the Hanson household. "Hello?" The voice that belonged to Taylor answered the phone. "Taylor, this is Jordan..." "JORDAN!! I'm so glad you called, I've been trying to call you ALL DAY!!! where are you?" He asked. "In the hospital." She said while fiddling with her hair. "Is your mom ok?" He asked in a serious tone. "I don't know, my brother says she is, but I haven't seen her yet." She replied. "why not?" "I've been kind of sick..." She was so ashamed of herself for what she tried to do. "What do you mean?" "I took to many sleeping pills." She lowered her voice. "Why did you do that?" "I couldn't take everything anymore, so I thought suicide was the way out." She said, just barely above a whisper. Taylor was definately shocked, "Jordan, I care about you, please don't ever do that again, promise me!" "I promise, it was an awful experience!" They chatted for a little while longer, when Jordan began to feel her eyes droop it was getting late so she let him go. "Tay, I'm gonna let you go ok, I need to get some rest, I'll call you tomorrow, ok?" "Ok." Soon after She fell into a deep sleep...
