Last year was my third outing for In The Heart of the Beast's annual May Day parade.

Preparing for the parade.. that's the window of my apartment in the background. It was kinda chilly that morning, so I figured leggings might be wise under the costume, but I just had a gauzy beach shirt for under the top which would be nice and light.

"Grr."

"Like, GRR."

"OK, whatever."

This guy had one funky half-mask. I'm still trying to duplicate it.

It was a Tibetan theme this year, since the Dalai Lama was visiting Minneapolis, so we had all kinda of Tibetan imagery, like this fuschia Kwan Yin/Buddha chicky with the turbo-tits. We even had two monks helping up at the build, and they were seriously fun guys!

The Tree of Life Ceremony at Powderhorn Park after the parade is always spectacular, but this was the first year I had been able to see it. The previous two I was so wiped from walking the 10 blocks in sweltering heat that I went home right afterwards.
