First off, I did not attend Woodstock. I am speculating based on the Fox special and MTV coverage. What was the original purpose of Woodstock in 1969? Bring together the greatest musicians of the time, and maybe ever, have some fun, make some noise. What was the purpose of '94 and '99? Make money. Sell water for $4? I think maybe the entire idea has changed but don't take anything away from a gathering of the best band of the time. Woodstock'99 is, or was, the greatest show of 1999. Why then did some 500 kids of the over 250,000 attendees have to taint a weekend of peace? Rapes, Fires, Looting, those are not things that were associated with the last two Woodstocks, now that is all that anyone is talking about. Maybe we should remember the great performances. Looking at http://www.korn.com singer Jonathan Davis said something of that was the best show that they ever did. Lets remember moments like that and forget about Late Sunday night and early Monday morning. ----------more to come----------
