Left abandoned in a radium mine by two thieves, Hugh Goddard suffers blindness from his exposure from the deadly element. Discovering a special pair of glasses that allows his radium blinded eyes see in the dark, Goddard seeks and attains his revenge on the two radium thieves. Still blind by day and set apart by his ghoulish glasses, he adopts a similarly ghoulish outfit to strike fear into the hearts of criminals everywhere as Nightro, bespectacled nemesis of evil! With his brown guide dog Blackie, he fights an neverending battle against all wrongdoing as this has now become his purpose for living. Possessing no other abilities other than to see in the dark, Nightro was in fit physical condition and was gifted with great acrobatic skills and great deductive abilities.
